Feb Sketch Post #5

Here we go, almost Pumpkin Time and more to share.  Check out the layout below to see what Jennie has done with her sketch.
LOVE Icecream by Jennie Seal (GCT)

A great use of the white space look, which gives the page a nice clean and straight look.  The colours just pop, and Jennie has added lots of little techniques to add texture and dimension.  Great page Jennie.

Feb Sketch Post #4

Hello all, tick! tick! tick! We're getting close to the final challenges, so on your bike everyone and start pedaling!! In the mean time, check out these gorgeous layouts.
Jewel of the Sea by Di Corbitt
Di has some really interesting textures on her page, adding to the beachy look of this layout.  The corrugated panel looks great, and the gold pebble paper looks great as a compliment to the blues. The flower above looks awesome in twine and trim, and her stamping around the edge sits nicely on the bazzil bling. A great page Di.
Today by Zan Boyle
Here we have another take on blues as a theme, with the main background cardstock giving a contrasting vibrance to the softness of the photo - you could almost do a canvas from that photo, right Zan? I'm thinking there's more to the meaning of that Washi Tape on the beach than meets the eye, but I do love the colours used. The title blends in as well, cut out from the Cricut.
Well done girls, and thanks for getting on your bikes.............. if you know what I mean.......

Feb Sketch Post #3

Hello again, here we are to share more creations from our February Sketch Challenge.
All Things Card by Jane Huhta (CT)
True Love Card by Judy Laracy
Thank You Card by Jennie Seal (GCT)
What a great mix of cards we have here, the girls have done a great job.  How good is it to see what everyone does with their sketch?  It's what makes a challenge so interesting, seeing everyone put their own touches on the same thing and getting such different results.

Thanks girls, and be sure to leave them a comment...

Feb Sketch Post #2

Hello everyone, welcome to another Sketch Post. It's almost Pumpkin Time, and today we have some lovely creations to share using the February Sketch.  I am a little impressed with what the girls are putting up at the moment, so please join in and share what you are doing as well.  We will have more posts and announcements shortly, so keep an eye out!
Wedding by Jane Huhta (CT)
Jane has used the fabulous Fab Scraps papers to do her layout, and this range is simply gorgeous.  A very soft and elegant page bringing focus to the photo.  Softly inking the edges and adding distressing gives the layout a bit more character.
Beautiful doilies and bling embellishments from the shop are sparkled up a bit more with some liquid pearls, and a close look at the lovely ladies will also see them accenting a bit of bling!   Dry embossing gives the pink paper a more delicate look as well.
Gorgeous flowers, lace and tulle flower runners sectioned off, and lovely ribbon vines add a beautiful touch.  The stitching and charm are lovely too.  I just love what Jane has done, and I'm really looking forward to sharing more of her beautiful projects with you all.

Stay tuned for more!

Feb Sketch Post #1

Hi everyone, well with love in the air who wouldn't love this creation?!! Today we are sharing a challenge from our Feb Sketches. Please feel free to leave the girls a comment as well.
Siblings by Helen Triglone
The colours in Helen's layout are wonderful and really compliment each other.  A good balance using dry embossing, layering and punching.  The photo is just gorgeous.
The crocheted doily and lace soften the page further, and the variety of flowers adds more interest.  Well done Helen.
Pretty in Pink by Judy Laracy
Judy's layout does not do the technology departments photographic abilities any justice!  Sorry Judy!  Much richer in pinks it just seems to pop layer on layer.  The embossed background cardstock ties in nicely, and the strip of hearts says it all!
Judy has been using her Cricut to cut the vines and leaves, adding an extra one for a bit of journalling.  A lovely layout of little Alexa, thanks Judy.

Show & Tell Feb Post #1

Hello everyone, today I have a little show and tell for you.  This layout was created using wonderful vintage tattered embellishments from Scrapville, you are going to love the colours!  Roll on down and have a look at what Zan has done with this layout.
SHOW & TELL
Stars in the Eyes by Zan Boyle
How gorgeous are these posies? Set on a delicate lace doily in a multitude of delicious colours they will tie in well with many layout themes. The mix of flowers can be eclectic or fully matching, you just need to pick the one that works for you!
Zan has had a great time playing with the photo to get the colour effect, and it's worked out really well. The hints of green throughout this page give it a balance of colour.
A bold stamp directly onto the photo adds to the colours, giving also a hit a texture. The stamped title has blended into the background theme, and tends to soften the layout.
A lovely and bright layout Zan, love the photo and your posie! Thanks so much for sharing!

If you have something you have created using Scrapville's products that you would like to share, please email me or drop it into the store, I'd love to be able to show off your creations!

Well isn't that a Thunder-Box and a half?!!  A great bit of Australian history right there..... and a great addition to this section of the ScrapBursts.  The corrugated cardboard looks great against the photo, the background is dusted up with inks, and the extra little addition, well it just had to be there!  Well done Deb.
