Creative Small Change

As we close in on the end of February's Monthly Pack, the girls are still busy getting their creativity happening.  I'm loving what Debi has been able to do with her Pack, there is so much in it.  And the Tags are such a great idea, easy to snatch and grab for that quick gift or card idea.

Spellbinders Event

What a wonderful time we all had on Saturday for the Spellbinders Designer Classes with Lovely Linda - Designer and Blogger for Spellbinders. We had two groups of ladies who were just as excited to be instructed under the expert guidance of Lovely Linda.  An added bonus for the girls was the equally Lovely and talented Teresa who assisted Linda and the girls.

We were all awed with the wonderful range of Spellbinders products, and their latest CHA releases which are shortly coming our way.  We can't wait to see them in-store!  Along with Spellbinders Dies and M-Bossabilities, the Grand Calibur Die Cutting and Embossing Machine was given a good workout.  This machine is such as easy tool to use, and takes so much of the work out of achieving your end result.
Botanical Butterflies Card by Lovely Linda (Spellbinders)

If you haven't seen the new Tsukineko Memento ink colours, you'll need to call in and check them out.  What a wonderful range, and so easily blended with their little daubers.  The white crayons used on the first card add an interesting technique, and open lots of doors to creating interesting cards, and stamped images on your layouts.  I love the look of this effect!

Here is what we used on this card, you can call in and pick some up, or contact Scrapville to order your Mail Out Kit.

Now, if you like the challenge of achieving different layering effects you'll have to try the Cut and Tuck Dies. There are a range of choices to pick from, and the one used in our class was beautifully layered on embossed teal patterned paper. Check these out.

Below we have a few photos of the day, and a look at the wonderful cards that the girls created.

Not So Shabby for 75 cents

Today we are sharing some more creations from Anita. She has been extremely creative using this pack, and has managed to get so much out of it. I can't believe the amount of inspiration that Anita has shared with us all with this pack, and such a variety in style too. How wonderful it is to see how one can perceive a range as one thing, then see it used in an entirely different way. Well done Anita, this is just awesome.
Rep Hockey by Anita Bownds (CT)
Beautiful colours combined with gorgeous flowers, a touch of stamping, hand sketched images and the softening of frilly borders and accents and you have a whole new look. Anita used a Kaisercraft Butterfly stamp and black paint.
The flowers are made with cream cardstock, which were inked with a bit of brown to define the edges. The chipboard flower flourish also adds more depth.
The leaves have been sketched with a Copic fine liner pen and coloured with water colour pencils.

Great layout Anita, thanks for sharing.

A Lot from a Little

A little more creativity from the girls.  What a great Monthly Pack, there's heaps of scrapping getting done with this one!
Card Set by Debi Clark (CT)
This is great as a gift set, or to be prepared for those last minute cards we tend to forget about!  The colour combinations are easy to work with, and the diecuts really are so versatile.
Elegance by Debi Clark (CT)
With this one I added a touch of pink to work in with my Tashi's dress & the sunset, & I really like the way that, plus some inking with blues & pinks works with this lovely paper line!
What a beautiful combination of elements for such a gorgeous photo.  The stitching adds another layer of texture, and even a bit of inking has given it a different look.  Well done Debi, these are great.

Have you got yours?

February Inspiration

Hi everyone, it's great to see the girls getting so much out of this month's pack. The combinations and variety in styles is so very inspiring when you think about how these are all from the same range. Anita has been exploring her textured style again, using Gesso with a stencil/mask, and a touch of Paint, or straight Texture Paste will work as well.
I Love Calamari by Anita Bownds (CT)
What a great photo, and when you think about it a great conversation starter! How often are we stuck for photos when we can snap the things that are interesting or make us laugh or jig a memory. where was this photo taken, what was the occasion, who was there???? And let's not forget "Oh I SO want to eat that!!"
Lots of layering and the addition of differing elements always give Anita's work interest.
The shine on this colour is great, it works well with the papers and although eye catching, draws the eye to the centre of the page and the photo.  Anita has added bits of doodling and paint spattering. Well done Anita, another inspiring creation.

February Creations

Well here we are with some more wonderful creations using the February Monthly Pack. Another great range which can be easily utilized for an array of themes. Take a look and see what we've got here!
Toga by Anita Bownds (CT)
I think this is a great photo Anita, and she looks so happy. The stamping has been done with Gesso, and the brush strokes help tie in the background.  Layering of tags, pelmets and frames helps build a central focus to that gorgeous photo.
The lovely cream MHC flower has blended in well with the natural look of the string bow, die cut leaves, mini flowers and raw chip alphas.  The softer tones in the butterflies add more of an natural element to the page.  Gorgeous Anita, well done.
Twins by Debi Clark (CT)
I used my Malted Milk dabber with a chevron mask & also stamped that but it is hard to see in the photo. I have used a photo taken of my hubby (on the left) & his twin brother that I have waited to scrap for ages...this was perfect paper!
Deb has done a great job on this layout, and what a great photo.  Loving all the distressing, added 'bellies and stamping.  Well done Debi, such a perfect combination for your photos.

And here's a little look at what we have for the latest Sketch Challenge.  I hope you are inspired to tackle this one, there is much to love about Anita's sketches!

Kaiser Card Creations

Hi everyone, well we're at the half way mark for our Monthly Pack Challenges, and there is more to see!  In this post we're sharing a couple of cards done using the Monthly Pack.  The 12x12 sticker sheet makes easy work on the cards, with so many options.  Don't forget to get your challenges in, as the Winner will get Next Month's Pack FREE!
For You Card by Heather Bensley (CT)
Valentine by Zan Boyle
Two very different looks, which is always good to see when using the same pack.  The valentine tag is a great spin on the traditional reds or pinks we so often see, and easily adaptable as a gift for either gender.  Thanks for sharing girls.

Approaching Pumpkin Time..

Hi everyone, here we are with some more Sketch Challenges to share before the Pumpkin strikes!  Thanks to everyone for playing.
Crema di Zucca by Rita Russello
Rita has had fun with her sketch playing with misting and masking, bringing in a new element to the background of white space.  The red and white patterned paper draws the eye into the photo, and dare I say that soup sure looks good enough to eat!!  Well done.
Love by Sally Dowen
Sally's sketch is very clean cut, with lots of white space.  The black spotty patterned paper is a nice contrast to the soft cream and teal. Lovely little cluster of flowers too, and an awesome photo for Valentine's Day!  Well done.
Amileigh by Deb Blundel
What a nice soft layout in pinks and whites. Very, very girly and just a gorgeous photo. I think you've done a great job with this Deb.
The organza ribbon is so soft and delicate, adding to the appeal of lovely pink flowers.  Some wonderful creations here girls, thanks for sharing your sketches.  The countdown is on for all final challenges to be in my Pumpkin Time on Valentine's Day.

More for your Money...

Hi everyone, today we are sharing a bit more small change goodness from Kaisercrafts 75 cents range.  And what great value it is in a Monthly Pack from Scrapville - lots of bits and pieces to play with.  Scroll on down and see what Heather has done with hers...
Cherish this Moment by Heather Bensley (CT)
Heather has made good use of her diecut elements and stickers from the pack.  Lots of layers and soft colours, lifted of course by the brightness of the red blooms.
These diecuts from the Collectibles are packed full of goodies, and this is such a lovely combination of shapes and colour.  The handmade leaves are a lovely touch around the flowers, and Heather's trademark stitching has snuck back into her layouts, and this is great to see.
The scattering of bling looks so effective, and is a good way to alternate between using spritzers to highlight an area.  The string has been tied loosely behind the cream flower at the top, and dangles loosely at the bottom.

A beautiful layout Heather, so many wonderful elements.

75 cents a month...

Yes, 75 cents is this month's wonderful Monthly Pack by Kaisercraft, and here is a sample of what Anita has done with it!  Filled with lots of goodies, I hope you are able to grab one and get creating!
I Totally Adore Him by Anita Bownds (CT)
Anita is never short of a technique or two.  Using her Gesso and some hand made shapes from sponge to stamp with, Anita has given the background a textured and patchy effect.  The drizzle and spritzing of black blends in nicely with the chevron paper.
The layering of the papers lifts the dimension of the photo.  The elements below the photo along the base are layered also, using the sticker sheet elements, patterned paper, lace and the buttons.
Here Anita has left her string bow loose, giving it movement, where above it's actually adhered, adding another level of texture.  The jouralling cards are a great way to blend in your theme and add more detail about the photos.  The butterflies add a lift of colour and, with a bit of mounting, even more depth.

Well done Anita, another beautiful layout of a very spoilt furry fellow!

Sketch Challenges

Here are more creative challenges for the Jan/Feb Sketch.
You Are My Sunshine Card by Zan Boyle
Zan has rotated her card sketch to put her doily at the bottom.  The pearl bling adds a nice touch to the butterfly trail, and the colours co-ordinate perfectly.  Well done Zan.
Gold Coast Son by Roz Langridge
Roz has used a former monthly pack to do her sketch layout, and the colours are such a compliment to that wonderful photo.  The kraft background with it's inked edges has blended in nicely.  This page looks great IRL, well done Roz.
Hugs & Kisses Card by Sally Dowen
This card by Sally has used stamping and inking.  Those little birds and fence are just gorgeous!  A great take on the sketch.

Thanks for sharing girls, we love seeing what you all come up with.

Rondelle Layouts to share

Hi everyone, today we have more to share with you from our last Monthly Pack, Rondelle. I have fallen behind in my posts of late, so this is up a little later than I'd planned. I hope you enjoy these layouts.
Lake Guy 2013 by Samantha
In this layout Samantha has used lots of dies and and handmade 'bellies.
The dies allow more elements to be added to blend in with the theme of the layout.
These wonderful flowers and leaves are all cut from the patterned papers and blend in beautifully, adding lots of co-ordinates and depth. A beautiful job Samantha, well done.
Friends by Samantha
Whilst Samantha has done a great job on her first layout, there was so much in the pack that she just had to keep on creating. Going for a more 'girly' look, she has used the softness of the flower motifs, the lace and flourishes.
Here we can see the layered diecuts using the patterned paper, giving the pale background paper a nice lift. Thanks for sharing, these are both great Samantha.

More shortly!
