Sketch Challenge Post 4

Hi everyone, today we are sharing some extra Show & Tells for the Sketch Challenge, and some!  Hope you have yours in, Pumpkin Time is drawing near........
Show & Tell
Dawn has put up another Sketch Layout, this time of her son holidaying in Bali.  The same colour tones have been used with a few different elements to change it up.  Personally I would have liked to see Grubby & the Gorilla, but that might have been pushing it....
Bali 2012 - Grubby in his Comfort Square! by Dawn Collins
Look at Me by Jo from Italy
Jo has joined in with our Sketch Challenge all the way from Italy.  This layout has added a different spin on the sketch with a much more staggered layout of the elements.  Great background paper and I love the photo.
The flower becomes the focus on top of the well placed layering of the patterned paper rectangles.
The tags make easy work of adding bits of information whilst blending in with the style of your projects.

Thanks for sharing girls, and don't forget, Pumpkin Time approaches!

Senior's Show & Tell

Scrapville has been running Card and Scrapbooking Classes as part of the October Seniors Program. Today we're sharing a few samples of what the girls have been doing. With only one week to go we'll have more to share following that class as well.
Cards with Heidi

Scrapbooking with Zan
Family
With this layout the girls all used a variety of patterned Christmas Papers. With layering, inking, tearing and a little bling the girls all got to try something new. For a different spin on the above design we had a couple of extra layouts that the girls were able to see as a comparison to what you can do with a basic layout.
The Girls
Special Day
We're looking forward to seeing the girls putting their next layout together in the last class next Tuesday. Don't forget, if you haven't booked yet you'll need to, places are limited.

Thanks to Heidi and Zan for showing the girls what to do in their classes.

October Sketch Post 2

Today we are sharing a couple of our Sketch Challenges from Zan.
Sentiment Card by Zan Boyle
Here is another sample, using more of the texture and background stamps from Scrapville.
Birthday Card by Zan Boyle
Tough Stuff by Zan Boyle
A closer look at all the texture Zan has added.
The Fob Watches are actually strips of Washi Tape, with a bit of inking on the edges.  The letters are all "extras" from Zan's stash, covered with a coat of paint and a touch of ink.  Layering, masking and texture stamps are a few of the added elements that shape this layout.

Well done Zan, thanks for sharing.

STAMPING

SAMPLE CARDS - TEXTURE & EFFECT STAMPS
The below samples were put together by Zan to showcase some of the latest texture and effect trends using stamps and masks.  Each one is individual, and techniques used range from your standard stamping, stamping and embossing, resist stamping and sponging, spritzing, background masking, colouring the stamps and layering with a touch of dry embossing for more dimension.  These are great to work with, and we'll have more to share shortly using our other style of beautiful rubber stamps.  Or you could call in and check them out here...

What a great variety of cards using the same or similar stamped textures. Simply changing the colour from neutral to bright can be so effective and extends the life and use of your stamps. Makes for a quick re-stocking of the "Cards in a Hurry" box that we all seem to keep in the midst of our creating spaces.

Thanks for your take on these great cards Zan.

What a lovely photo, the simple holding of hands to show a brotherly bond.  The blue hues are give the white space such a brightness too.  Thanks again for sharing Rita.
