April Newsletter & Updates

Hello Everyone, it seems like I've only just finished one Newsletter, then the next one is due.  And yes, for those of you who tend to check - it's actually OVER due!  Well, here I am though, head down, fingers dancing on the keyboard (and trust me, any dancing on my part is not a pretty sight....keyboard or not!).  There always seems to be something exciting going on, and this month is no exception.  During April I announced the introduction of a Guest to the Creative Team, on a short term basis.  This role will be alternated with new Guests over the coming months, and I look forward to sharing with you their excitement, expertise and wonderful projects.  In this first Guest Role we welcomed Marg Oliver to the Team, and look forward to seeing more of her beautiful work.

Marg takes on the role at an opportune time as Sally Clark prepares for an overseas trip with her family.  Our Creative Team will miss her wonderful contributions to Scrapville’s Monthly Projects and the beautiful shop samples whilst she is away, and we wish Sally and her family a wonderful and safe trip.  I will be sure to give you an update when Sally returns home in early July.

I would also like to thank Melinda for her wonderful Monthly Sketches.  They have been great challenges, and the layout and card sketches are both fresh and exciting.  The general feedback has been just wonderful and each month brings with it a new motivation and excitement.

As you all know I recently announced that Scrapville was introducing Monthly Subscriptions.  These will commence from 1st May, and the first mail out will ensure that all those that have subscribed will have their packs or kits posted out before the end of April.  If you wish to subscribe for the Monthly Packs, please forward me an email for details regarding payment options and your selection.  In addition to the Subscriptions we will also be adding a Kit each month. In the Shop:
On the TOOL front we have the perfect opportunity for you all to get the Male Members of the household into a Scrapbooking Shop!  Tell them there are TOOLS, and they'll drop everything and whip in to pick up something special for Mother's Day!....  There is lots to temp Mum that those Dad's out there should be aware of!!  MM Paper Trimmers are in stock, the Ott-Lite lamps are now in, the Crop-A-Dile cases have arrived, the Heat Guns are re-stocked, the MM Metallic Stamp holder kit is in, the Border Punches are in, Pop Up Punches are in, Xyron Refills and Craft Knives are topped up, and the replacement Cricut blades and Cricut Took Kits are in.

Now, all that without even mentioning the Cricuts, Texture Boutique Embossing Machines, the Cuttlebug Machine or the Zutter Bindit.  The only thing missing here is the i-top's, which I'm hoping arrive soon...

I have more Glitter now in stock for all those secret fairies out there needing a bit more sparkle!  We have the Versamark Watermark pads back on the shelf, and StazOn back in stock, also available in several new colours. For those into distressing and aging we also now have the Tsukineko Walnut Inks in a 4 Pack Spray set, great range of colours and SO many uses. We also have the Static Pads for embossing, embossing trays for a neater application, and more daubers for inking.

There is a new supply of really nice Bling, Felt and Cardstock Embellishments to stick straight onto the page, and some really neat Puffy Stickers in Alpha's and Shapes to compliment cute boy and girl ranges coming out soon...
There are new Thickers in, new coloured Mini Alphas, and some nice thick cardstock alpha stickers in a couple of different styles. Nice enough to put straight onto the page, or even mount up and edge with the distresser.

A little off the page we have Book Plates and Metal Tags, Metal Word Tags and Gorgeous White Plywood Letters and Numbers. These are light enough to put onto a page, mount onto an OTP Booklet or decorate on their own. Along with these we have an A4 sized raw wood album - the cover & back are joined with album rings, and they include an extra "number" that is loose so that it can be decorated separately and then added on accordingly. The Number Albums are 18, 21, 30, 40, 50 & 60. Others are available at your request.....

There are Cropper Hopper 12x12 paper holders in sets of three, and a Wire Holder for your Trimmer that will keep your work area free for spreading out.  This next bit scares me a little....................... there is SO much paper.......... where do I start?
Imaginisce, BoBunny, Basic Grey, American Crafts, 3Bugs in a Rug, WeR Memory Keepers, Cosmo Cricket, October Afternoon, DoodleBugs, Junkitz............ puff, puff, puff!!!

Okay, there might also be more flowers - there might be BIG paper flowers and tiny velvet flowers and little bling flowers and very BRIGHT flowers and a few more bling flowers and even some bling flower CENTRES (which are pretty nice)............ but I would need to have another look!

ALMOST in the door is the Album backorder, the trolley TOTEs with wheels and a handle, the Texture Boutique Beginner Kits and the Heidi Swapp Edge Distressers..... I do however have some more 12x12 albums in a Kraft colour with either Red or Light Blue spines, and a range of album refills.

So there you have it, busy busy busy!!  So much stuff, so little time...  Apart from this Scrapville has entertained the idea of running a Retreat in September.  Deposits are being taken and preparations are being made.  Far be it for me to say that this is going to be an exciting event, but by golly it is!!  I will update you further when I am able to confirm all details, but please email me should you have any queries.

For the Cause: Biggest Morning Tea Event
For the past couple of years I have registered with the Cancer Council's Biggest Morning Tea and organized an event to support this very worthy cause.  I am happy to announce that I have registered my support through Scrapville, and will be participating in the Biggest Morning Tea in-store on Thursday, 27th May.  There will be a few surprises here, so keep an eye on the Blog for updates.

KidsVille
During the school holidays we ran some kids classes.  These ranged from an open crop, shrink dink key chains and bookmarks, and a tag booklet.  The kids were from a varied level of ages and experience, and the general feedback was that they all had a great time.  I would like to thank everyone for coming along and taking part in KidsVille Classes and Crops, it was great having you.  I would also like to thank Allana and Riley for helping out on these days, assisting in the classes and manning the shop.  You both helped it all run smoother.  We look forward to offering further KidsVille Classes in the next school holiday block, with a few changes to help cater to everyone’s level of experience and enjoyment.

Special Day KidsVille
I am extending an invitation to all the children that attended a KidsVille holiday booking to come into Scrapville on Wednesday, 5th of May between 4pm and 6pm for a special project.  There will be a small charge of $5.00, and NO MUM’s are allowed!
Please ask your mum to confirm your attendance by Friday, 30th April…

For all those people who purchased the April Monthly Pack, please remember that there is only one week left to bring in your completed projects.  We would love to see what you have come up with from this pack.  And for those of you tackling the Sketch Challenge, you still have until midnight on the 14th of May to bring them in.

Keep you eyes on the Blog, there’s lots going on!!

Cheers

Janet
